I've used these in the past, including the Gold Rush. Fashionable, and
available at almost any gas station 7/11 etc. Easy to clean up too!
Shivering and asking the clerk nicely will usually get you one. Under
your outer layer for less drag, over your jersey for more warmth.
I hope the folks at Antelope Lake bring a roll for the
unprepared.
As long as we are on the topic, another standby, if caught
without leg warmers in unexpected cold/wet weather are pantyhose, also
available at most 7/11 type stores. One or two pair, over the shorts,
will warm you up a bit, and make your legs look great too! Queen 1 fits
me pretty well. I've also know, mostly women, that will use an old pair
for disposable tights at the start of a ride till the day warms up.
