[GRRiders] Arrival times for 2001 GRR?

I'm a back of the pack rider.
The way I figure it, based on past rides, I should hit the 400 km point about 24 hours into the
ride, the 700 km point about 48 hours into the ride, the 1000 km point about 72 hours into the ride,
and the 1200 km point about 88 hours into the ride.
So, I hope to roll into Susanville (423 kms) around 6 or 7 pm on the July 20th, and to try to make
it to Adin (532 kms) by 11 or midnight or so.
After a short nap, I would like to make Adin (738 kms) again by about 7 pm on July 21st, where I
will likely nap again.
Then it would be great if I can make Tobin (1002 kms) by about 7 pm on July 22nd or if I'm feeling
really good, maybe Oroville (1068 kms) by about 11 pm, where I will likely nap again.
And then I'll have a few hours to finish off my last 200 kms, which for me has invariably been the
slowest part of my ride.
Give or take a few hours here and there, depending on terrain, environment, fatigue, etc. etc. etc.
But I've done enough long distance riding to know that the best-laid plans as far as strategy,
planned sleep stops, eating, equipment, etc. often go right out the window after about the 500 km
point. :)
One tip for anyone who is new to this sort of distance, and especially to anyone who is a back of
the pack rider like me. You *will* want to sleep, but in order to get any sleep on the ride, you
will have to either ride faster, or take shorter stops at the other non-sleep controls. Because I
have trouble riding much faster than I do, I try, as much as possible, to be in and out of controls
as quickly as possible. In order to do that, as I'm approaching the control, I think through what I
need to do so that I know I need to do this first, and this second, etc. I also think about what
I'd like to eat to prepare my stomach. That way when I get off the bicycle at the control, I don't
waste time wandering around aimlessly for a few minutes trying to decide what to do first. However,
as I mentioned above, as the ride proceeds, that gets harder to do. Still, it's a good way to begin
the ride ... at least, it seems to work for me.
