It looks like I will be in the same situation as you now ... with two EL500s. I will be keeping one
in a ziploc bag, and one mounted to the bicycle. My reason for this is that I've been caught in
torrential downpours on most of my rides over the past couple years ... the rain has been too much
for my lights to handle ... and they have ceased working. So despite the fact that the EL500 is
waterproof to 100ft (one of the important selling features for me), I don't want to take any chances
with it, and I want to have one that is protected from the elements until I absolutely need to use
it.
Oh, incidentally, if it rains the entire time out there on the GRR ... my apologies. Don't forget
to bring your raingear.
