[GRRiders] Davis Creek Store

FWIW, I rode the inaugural GRR four years ago, and I'm certain I
passed the store, but don't remember the details. Actually about all I
remember of the 600k turnaround was Bill Bryant's happy face and a
volunteer who's name I'm sorry I can't remember. Who stands out because
he held our tandem the entire time we were at the stop (there wasn't a
good place to lean it, without risking scratching up something that
wasn't ours) Lastly I remember the pack of dogs that swirled around the
bike at one point on the way back to Alturus, so close to us I stepped
one to the ground under a pedal.
Many other things stand out from the GRR too, like the cold at
Eagle Lake, but I'll save most of those for later....
Gosh that was a great ride!
Pete

Thanks Sterling--
FWIW, I worked the 600k checkpoint at Davis Creek during the inaugural
GRR
four years ago and the store staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Great
folks, and I'm glad to hear Margaret still works there. Along with
providing
the riders with food and drink, she arranged for us to use the old
church
site for our control, gave as an overflow option for sleeping, etc. She
and
the store staff were genuinely interested in the welfare and progress of
the
riders (and a little bit incredulous too.) ;-)
Cheers,
Bill Bryant
