Wow,
 
My head has been really spinning the last couple of days. I had hoped to ride a 300K this last Saturday but we couldn't make it.  So I checked to see if there was a good substitute as I've paid for the Gold Rush already.  Unfortunately, the options where pretty slim.  Because of this I contacted the ride organizer and we decided on a way to make the ride up.  So it was looking pretty good  and my hopes were still alive.   
 
Then today I found out my brother will not be able to finish qualifying for the Gold Rush as he is feeling the need to spend time with his wife have a new born.  So, this left me knowing I'd be without one of my favorite riding buddys.  And, for a while I really got into a funk.  I even went as far as considering dropping out of the GRR altogether. Then I looked at the GRR sign up list and this really helped get me to feel better.  I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of familiar names on the list and many have plans to ride GRR.  So, knowing that it's a bit more assuring as I know I won't be riding in the dark alone in the middle of July.  So, now I'm thinking I can still pull this together as long as no other road blocks are thrown in the way.  I just thought I'd share.
